When I say Haunted House in New Hampshire, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it the amusement parks? Or that spooky house nobody goes in?
Well, It is obviously not about real haunted places but a place for artificial horror. I personally really like these places. I mean, it is not easy to scare people nowadays.
Haha! Yes, back then, it was easier. One jump scare and the game was over, but movies like Escape room, Anabelle or Grudge have made the expectations higher. Therefore, to scare people, you need to arrange everything. The sound, the costume, the lights, everything should be there.
You know, this is where most of the ghost houses or haunted houses in New Hampshire fail. But the ones that I’m going to talk about are pretty good or, rather, I should say, scarier.
I like how they have found out that the real magic lies in the lights and the sound effects. At one point, I started feeling like it was happening for real, and I was the lead character of a scary movie.

The Salisbury Woods
The Salisbury Woods is one of the best-haunted houses in Hampshire. These are not my words but the words of thousands of people who have been going there for years now. So, what are the tourist attractions?

There are obviously other things too, but I should also leave something for you to explore. In short, you will be scared to see ghosts.
The shows are for adults. No worries, there is nothing sexual, but as small kids might get a little bit scared, which is not good for them, Salisbury Woods do not recommend this to the kids.
Moreover, the Grannies are rocking at the show. I saw a woman with her grandchild absolutely enjoying the show. People come here each year, and each time, there is something new to explore.
Tickets are limited for each night, and you need to book that way only. Tickets are not refundable. If you miss the show, your money will be gone. Hmm, I think they need to work on this fact a little bit.

Haunted Grandview Manor
One of the most convenient haunted houses in New Hampshire for kids. As I was saying before, it might not be safe to take the kids in these haunted houses, but Haunted Grandview Manor has done a very good job.
They have two types of scare walks. The first one is the day scare walk, and the other one is the night scare walk. If you have kids with you, I would recommend going for the day scare walk.
The setting, the decoration, everything is just on point, and you will absolutely love it. My niece was with me, so I didn’t go for the night one.
She liked the day scare walk a lot and was happy being there. However, I didn’t miss night one and went with my friends. My god! It was really built for adults. The moment I was thinking that it was over and my heart could rest, something started creeping into the corner.

Duke’s Spook House
Everything felt so real. You know, I’ve been to several haunted houses in New Hampshire, but Duke’s Spook House is on another level.
There was a time when I forgot that it was all fake. It felt real. I started doubting reality and thinking that stranger things exist for real and might be a portal step into the world of darkness.
Haha! Insidious fan, you know! One thing that I really liked about the place is the assistance they provide. In most scary houses, if you are feeling too scared, you need to go back or just finish the walk.
But I saw the volunteers coming to help a cute little girl who was scared to death. They accompanied her and took her out of the walk. They spent time with her while her mom finished the walk.
I was happy to see that. I had a niece with me, and I thought that a similar situation could occur to me as well. They thought about the same and came to check whether she was okay or not.
I was impressed. I strongly recommend you to go there.

Haunted Overload
No matter what time of the day you are visiting, it will be awesome! If you choose to go on the day, you can see the artistic details closely, and it will surprise you. The entire setting in the woods, the gigantic dolls, everything feels as if you have come to a whole new world.
In the night, the scary part creeps in. Haunted Overload is not about the jumpscares but the visible and slow things.

The Chase House Inn
Okay, so we have discussed haunted houses, which are fake or artificial. But what if I say there are some real ones too? Yup! You have heard it right.
There are some real haunted places in New Hampshire that you might like to explore. The first place we have on our list is The Chase House Inn.
So, the story goes like this.
The Chase House Inn was built for children who had lost their parents. In that orphan house, a little teenage girl who used to live there. But one day, people found her dead body hanging from the ceiling. Yes, she committed suicide.
Since then, people have been claiming from time to time that they have seen her ghost in the hallway. Well, it is not something unbelievable. Houses and places do have memories, and sometimes, spirits are part of the memory.
So you can see her too! No worries, she hasn’t harmed anyone. Moreover, it is actually a historical place. It was the birthplace of Salmon P. Chase.
Little Red School House
A paranormal researcher was called to investigate the paranormal incidents that were witnessed by the caretakers of the schoolhouse.
The experience of the paranormal researcher was just mind-blowing. At first, I thought that some logical explanation would be there. But no, real ghosts were there. The research team witnessed a certain decrease in the temperature and some noises that cannot be explained.
In short, it was confirmed that the Little Red School House was haunted. But who are the ghosts? Are they harmful? Well, this is something that the research team knows only. The information is confidential.
Mount Washington Hotel
Mount Washington Hotel belonged to businessman Joseph Stickney and his wife, Carolyn. They both built this luxurious hotel together. They loved the hotel, but after the sudden death of Joseph, things started to change.
No, the hotel was running fantastically, but Carolyn was sad and alone. She married a prince in France and went to live with him. But in a few years, the prince died. After that, Carolyn came back and spent the rest of her life in the hotel only.
The people who come to stay here claim that they have seen her ghost. Her private suit, which is now a room for the public, is a place where most of the ghostly incidents happen.
It is said that in the middle of the night, people have seen her sitting at the corner of the bed, brushing her hair.
Sounds horrifying, right? Well, indeed. Suppose you wake up in your sleep and see someone sitting on your bed; it is not a good thing to happen.
